Lynda Hill, FAA Pract. Cert has been a professional astrologer for more than 18 years. 2008 marked her 24th lecture tour of the States, in addition to the many lectures she has conducted for astrologers and the public througout Australia, England, Scotland,  Wales, Ireland, Russia, South Africa, New Zealand and Canada. Lynda is the astrologer for Take Five Magazine, and writes astrological commentary for publications all over the world. She divides her time between Sydney's beautiful Northern Beaches and the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains (when she's not travelling the world delivering lectures).

Her book 360 Degrees of Wisdom: Charting Your Destiny With the Sabian Oracle is published by Penguin USA (Plume imprint) and was released in February 2006 by Sony Japan in Japanese. This is a revised edition of her self-published book The Sabian Symbols as an Oracle, which comes with a special set of divination cards.

Lynda was born in Manly, one of the most beautiful beaches of Sydney, Australia. Lynda has long had an association with things 'mystical'. She formally took up the study of astrology in 1987 (under a Uranus transit) but was interested in the subject long before. Her father, Ken Rigby (pictured), was an egg farmer, but his hobbies were astrology and spiritual healing during the 1970's. As her father says, he was 'rapt in Edgar Cayce', and conducted spiritual healing sessions and dream analysis with a group that he led in his home on Monday nights. Her father would often talk about astrology, reincarnation and other spiritual matters so easily that they became second nature to her. Lynda's mother has also trained as a Reiki healer; these influences combined ordained Lynda with a curiosity in spirituality and a quest for deeper meaning from an early age.

Upon earning accreditation as an astrologer Lynda joined the Federation of Australian Astrologers and served on the state and national boards and for 6 years was their International Liaison Officer.

All through her teenage years, Lynda longed to go to the middle east, particularly Iraq. In 1976, she set out on a journey that took her through Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Israel, Egypt, Turkey and through Europe to London. Her journey touched her in many ways, and it was only many years later she realized her strong connections to astrology, which has its origins in Mesopotamia (now known as Iraq).

Excepts from an interview with Lynda from About.com:

I had always been interested in astrology, from my youngest days, but had only ever dabbled in it until about the age of thirty. Throughout my teen years, my father was an astrologer - this was during the '60's and '70's, but as I didn't live with him, and only saw him on some school holidays, we didn't talk a great deal about it, but the subject was always in the air. Every now and then he would say "Jupiter's doing something or another in your chart, you should buy lottery tickets", or the like. Being a teenager, I would just nod and say "Yeah, dad". Dad was also an Edgar Cayce healer and was instrumental in setting up a study group for the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Sydney. I remember sitting in on his healing group one night when I was about 19, it was very interesting. They did distance healing and interpreted dreams from letters they received.  I used to go to the Theosophical bookstore in Sydney a lot, especially when I worked in the city - I'd go there at lunchtime and peek at the books. The first astrology book I bought was Liz Greene's Saturn, A New Look at an Old Devil. After the birth of my second child, I saw an ad in the local paper advertising a weekly course on getting to know yourself through your horoscope. I took up that course and within 2 weeks had signed on for a 3 year course and I just couldn't get enough information packed into my head. I would read textbooks whilst making dinner, I could hardly put the books down. That led to being involved with the Federation of Australian Astrologers and doing their wonderful accreditation courses, and my becoming a fully qualified astrologer.

PetraIn 1992, on my birthday, a girlfriend of mine who's an astounding clairvoyant, did a reading for me. She said that I would travel the world lecturing on a particular subject in astrology, I'd write books and would be respected by my peers for being an expert in this particular field. I said "oh yeah!, every time I get up to speak in front of an audience, I can't get the words out - I even cried once!"... and "what on earth would be my specialty?" She said she didn't know, she was just telling me what she saw. I could not envisage what she meant and didn't think much about it. However, two weeks later, I as I sat in my office, I realised that everything she said was what I wanted. I decided to "ask" for those things and I centered myself for a few minutes and made a mental picture of what I wanted. I started researching the Sabian Symbols and within 6 months of my birthday, I delivered my first lecture in the United States at the Aquarian Revelation Conference in Lansing, Michigan. I also gave a short piece in front of around 450 people in the main hall at that Conference and didn't feel nervous or out of place. It was truly incredible!

There are many layers to my being involved in the Sabian Symbols - more than I probably know. It's interesting to note that Marc Edmund Jones said that the energy that came through the clairvoyant, Elsie Wheeler, was an 'ancient mind matrix' from Mesopotamia (Iraq today) and I visited those areas in my early twenties, long before hearing about the Sabian Symbols.

I use the Sabian Symbols in all my readings, wherever there is a degree of the zodiac. They are extraordinarily brilliant at bringing to light issues that aren't shown through other methods of chart reading. Using them to understand one's path in life, what's going on around you, what's happening within you, they can answer questions on so many levels.
